Before the second semester ends, my college friend, Rajj, recommended me this movie. And because I was into movies these days, I decided to watch this movie. Secret is a 2007 Taiwanese film. According to Wikipedia.com, "It is the directorial debut feature film of Taiwanese musician Jay Chou, who also stars as the male lead and co-wrote the movie."
Ye Xianglun is a music piano student who transferred to Tamkang Secondary School. It is a prestigious school for musically talented students. On the first day of school, while wandering through the old piano building, he hears a lovely melody being played in one of the piano rooms. He followed the melody until he entered the piano room and saw Xiao Yu inside, tucking a music score in the book shelves. He then ask her about the song she was playing. She said to him that it is a secret that cannot be told. After Xiao Yu learned that the old piano building was on a schedule for demolition on the graduation day, she teached Ye Xianglun the lovely melody.
The movie made me speechless. The music and the characters blend well within the story line. I like how the story progress and how it made the viewers go "Ahhhhh." at a certain point a movie. It's a great movie for music and non-music lovers out there. And also a great recommendation for those who like or love watching romance films.
I like how the movie shows how the father really loves his only son and also the burst of the son's love at the end of the movie. Throughout the ending, it was tragic. But, the ending won't disappoint you. I like how the concept,"Love conquers all." is played well in the end.
I love the peaceful landscape of Taiwan shown while Ye Xianglun and Xiao Yu are on the bike together. It is like a heaven for me and the view is just relaxing. I would like to have a chance to live there in that marvelous area.
After watching the movie, I realized that true love has power. The power to go through all those challenges and struggles just to be with that special someone who you really treasure.
