While reading some stuffs in the news feed of my Facebook account, I read a friend's status saying that she just finished watching the movie, "Like Stars on Earth". I became curious and interested after reading her status. I said to myself that I must watch a movie every week to explore the world of movies and know more stories. I decided to watch this movie and immediately search it if the movie was uploaded in Youtube. Thankfully the whole movie is uploaded there.
Taare Zameen Par is an Indian movie directed by Aamir Khan. It was released in the year 2007. The story begins with an eight year old boy named Ishaan (Full name: Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi) who had dyslexia. His family, neighbors, teachers and classmates can't understood what he's always thinking inside his mind. Through making art he expressed himself. Little did they know that Ishaan's mind has a wide and rich imagination that only Ram Shankar Nikumbh, his temporary art teacher in his boarding school, noticed.
I had lots of things I would like to say about this movie, but I don't know what to type first. (And my thoughts are drifting away.) I like how the movie teaches us that children who are suffering from mental illnesses are also people. They can also feel emotions that us, normal people, feel too. We are all equal. We are all unique. And everyone has gifts and talents. Don't let people say to you that you're talentless and worthless.
Art is an expression. It is a way for people to express themselves. I look highly to artists out there. :) Never say to people that the art they're making is worthless because there's a huge chance that they'll quit making art for sure. Pursuing art is a good thing.
I like the painting that Ram Nikumbh painted in his art event. He painted Ishaan's happy face. Such a good painting. I would love to learn how to paint portraits like this.
Just a random thought. Aamir Khan is surprisingly good-looking for his age.
I like that one part of the movie where Ishaan woke up early and dressed himself up properly in front of the mirror. I like the quote the narrator was saying and the matching background song.
"There have been such gems amongst us who have changed the course of the world, because they could look at the world differently. Their thinking was out of the box and not everyone understood them. They were ridiculed. But despite that, they persevered and emerged such winners that the world applauded them."
